    Re: Decisions Decisions.....what to do?

I want to know... what are the filters and lighting available for this tank.

30 G is way too small for discus, except as a stepping stone... I had 24 discus in a 20 gallon, but they were very very tiny and getting 2 water changes a day at that point.

Depending on lighting ... could be a great planted tank. You'd need either triple NO-flourescents or some sort of CF set-up, plus CO2 and special gravel. $$$$

Otherwise, some sort of cichlids, not my specialty. I've always wanted some shell dwellers.... got the shells, but not the room.

      Re: Decisions Decisions.....what to do?

I just put together a 20G long with shells and filtration for some Lamprologus ocellatus shell dwellers who I will be picking up in a few weeks from Mike.
A 30G could be perfect for them.

Anonapersona, I have a planted tank high-tech so don't wanna do another, have shelldwellers as well......multis,strappersi, occies and brevis.

Do have like 80 shells though but it leaves the top half of the tank open.

Mzungu, I have seen those tang. Killies at ultimate and they are massive big! Don't think they will like the small tank.

I liked the idea of the rock dweller species set up. Juli's are so cool.

                Re: Decisions Decisions.....what to do?

I think I have decided what to do with it....

community tank.... good heavy pieces of driftwood, moss, ferns and fine substrate maybe sand.

                as for stocking....

                Guppies
                roselines
                piebald platys/mollies
white spotted pleco that I have
                Otocinclus
                Japonica shrimp
                cardinals/neons/ember tetra.....one of them
                possibly some hatchet fish

The Juli's I have are already in the 135g tank so I think I will just adapt the rockscape to help them be more safe with their tankmates(right now Mobas but soon tropheus)

You could always do natives, fresh or brackish.

Keep in mind those "roseline sharks" or barbs get larger than 4". Or are you talking about some other type of fish? It seemed kinda odd since everybody else stays small.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

You may consider some rummy nose fish.  Just as tight schoolers and stay small.

That said I love my Roseline sharks.  Five is the minimum I'd keep.

I don't realy like the rummynose....I prefer ember tetras over them and that said there are lots of other schooling fish I would rather get before them.
