  • CenterPiece Fishy

So my brother is setting up a 42g Oceanic bowfront and I'm trying to think of a nice aggressive center piece fish for the tank.

Lets not worry about how big the fish MAY get in the future as I plan to dwarf it so anything will work for this tank.

Want something that will rush the glass and rip your arm off if you try and clean the tank, Like some inbred Flowerhorns do but not looking for a FH.

I've pretty much said what my brother wants.

As for price range... I don't think there's much that can't be had for a fair price if you know the right people

                  Well born in brackish.

These guys say they commonly stock pups and "mini"s Maybe they pre-dwarf 'em for ya? j/k Acutally C. isodon.

http://www.sharksupply.com/species.htm They say they check if the customers tank is appropriate prior to sale. Better stretch the truth.

Seroiusly though, how about a Green Terror? The name alone will convince your brother he has a man eater on his hands.

Don't tell fish stories where people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish.

Fish Gallery had one in the "ponds" area, and that thing followed you. . . seriously. I said, "Is that dovii following me?" So, I walked back and forth, then went away and came back. Sure enough, it was following me.

Honestly, many of the Central American cichlids are decent choices (like like FHs, but not FHs). Looking specifically at Amphilophus, Nandopsis, and Parachromis. . . people have posted bites from some of these. I had baby A. amarillos, and the one male got pretty cranky at only a few inches. Obviously, oscars are another choice.
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )

Hmm... a lot of what has been suggested are pretty ugly, FlowerHorn looks nice compared to them.
