  • Combining troph colonies

My 55g has 26 ~3" ikola in it now. I'm growing out 15 Kachese. They're 1"-1.75" (from 2 different batches). Would it be okay adding them to the Ikola tank since they're too small to really be a threat? Or should I keep growing them out, they should hit 2" pretty quick then slow down in the 20L they're at now. I would do the typical low water level, no rocks, lights out introduction. As long as they don't get killed I'm fine if it interrupts future breeding or anything.

Feed the big fish, say a prayer and dump them in.

only problem I see is sp.red has been know to xbreed with ikola.

Meh, I'll just get another tank for the kachese. I'm already scared for my ikola, I just added 12 clown loaches to the tank that I had in a 20gal the past 2 weeks. Raising temp and adding my normal salt as a precaution until settled

better option, only due to the crossbreeding factor. Size wise they will work fine as long as they aren't hungry.

My trophs shred anything and everything regardless of size if they are hungry but if I feed them first I've had zero problems.
