  • I feel dumb...

So yesterday we bought a used aquarium and the dimensions the lady gave me were for a 60 gallon. She advertised it as a 70, but I couldnt pass it up. Today I get it home and decide to measure it myself. Sure enough its a 70. After comparing it to my "55" I decide to remeasure the other aquarium for some reason. Yeah its really a 70 and this whole time I thought it was a 55. I feel dumb

It's all good though, right? Or did you need a specific number of gallons for some reason?

20g is a nice shrimp tank.

A lot of people have no clue. how big or small there tank is. And the trueth is, It doesn't matter. As long as you love the tank. And you got a great deal on it.

We just want to see it setup. Picture as soon as you can...

lol, well its kinda nice to know the volume if you are dosing meds or ferts but how many of us REALLY know how much water is in our tanks? After 3-5 inches of gravel and all the driftwood and rocks the actual water volume is probably a lot less

This is true but you can always make a guess. Or if you are really bored calculate the volume lol

calculating volume of irregular objects would be tiresome, this type of measurement is typically done by displacement but unless you want a mess on your floor the best way would be to pour in a known volume 1 jug at a time.

true that I know that with my river manifold my ada tank is closer to 70 gallons but then after I added sand it went back down...

I havent figured out which room its going in yet. I just cleaned it up some and set it in the front room for now. I plan on getting some discus and going BB. I might leave this piece of wood in it but didnt know if it would be a good idea. I also plan on building a hood one of these days.
