that seems high since i got some around that size there earlier this year for like 8 or 9 bucks a pop. i have gotten normal BN as in not long fin for around 4 to5 at different places, albino as well. If Tim would just separate his and put them alone, im sure he could breed enough albino longfin to make us all happy.

If want to breed them... I'll let you borrow some of my albino longfin BN and even an extra tank to breed them in. I just don't have the room anymore. Once you get the fry, we can split them. Oh yeah... you have to get them out of their current tank too! :wink:

is the albino BN pleco a female?  I've been looking to replace my deceased female, if you would like to trade for something let me know

I'm not looking to get rid of any. I have six (2M/4F) that I was going to have a tank for breeding, but the wife limited the number of tanks  - so they are in with Amano shrimp, Leleupi, and Rainbowfish - and odd mix.

Honestly, there isn't anything that I don't have that I want (that I have room for).

Are you limited on the number of tanks or size as well?  I have a vision in my head of your house with four 600 gallon tanks  8O

I'm not explicitly limited on size, but am limited on money. Once I purchase a house, it WILL have at least one that size.

Is there any reason to not put a Bristlenose Pleico in a tank with livebearers?
I have a buch of O cats in all my tanks, but I want a more active algae eater in my 55.
I let my Mollies (and Platys) have their fry in the tank now, and don't want any fin or fish casualties from an agressive bottom feeder.
Are they ok to put in, as a rule?

I don't know of any problems like that, so it should be a safe addition to the tank. Chime in if anyone has had a different experience.  :)

I don't think the BN's are aggressive towards other fish....to their own maybe but not to others. Try and get young ones and grow them out with the livebearers which will probably be the safest route.

I got one common brown pleco, about 2 1/2 "; he seems real mellow around the other residents, almost courteous, and is doing a great job on the sides of my 55.
I did a little reading on the web, so I wouldn't repeat my Chinese Algae eater mistake (they are way to aggressive for my little ones); I take it BN plecos are smaller than common Browns and can get along with a few (2 or 3) living in a 55?

Well I got Soni they BN pleco but he wasnt really do the job so I moved my common pleco to help out since the algae build up was getting bad. Well the next morning I wake up and look at the tank and the algea build up was cut by at least 70-80% he really did the job like he never eats or something. I moved him back today since he obviously did the job that I wanted him to much quicker than anticipated. I think I know what happened to the ottos I mentioned at the beginning the Angels nibbled at the fins of the BN so I bet they are the ones that killed the Ottos.

Have (2M/2F)albino BN, (8+)O cats, (11)dwarf cories[for bottom cleaners] Netrites & (?)cherry shrimp in my 300g w/ (2) large discus & (140?) tetras [cardinals/rummynoses].    Have 2 very large pieces of driftwood and lots petrified wood w/ plants.   No one trashes it or any one else.   Stays really clear of algae.
The BN never harass anything even during feeding.  Definitely a favorite.   Really enjoy the combination.

Well, my two ottos just disappeared. They were rather small, but too big to fit in the angels' mouths....well so I thought. I think they picked the ottos to death. I havent even found any bones...kinda scary

Mine hide QUITE well in the tank.. I rarely see more than one of them at one time.  Give it a few days and you may find them again.
