  • Good clean up crew for 75g with angels?

What would be a good clean up crew? The angels are a little bigger than the size of half dollars & apparently they're already skilled assasins.

We had a 2" albino pleco in there for 2 days. Dead. Looked like it went a round with Mike Tyson.

We had a 3" common pleco in there for a week. Dead. Looked like the angels were on bath salts & ate his face.

I have a few ramshorn snails in with them and they don't seem to bother them at all, but there's not enough of them to do the job.

Anyone else have any suggestions aside from tiny muzzles for their little mouths.

get something faster than bristle noses and make sure there are places for the smaller fish to hide from the angels. a good start would be corys, loaches, or small catfish (synodontis of anysort would work great). also keep the angels well fed and that should also help with aggression

wow, they killed a common pleco?? sounds like your bottom dwellers need tanks to make it in that tank.

I have never witnessed aggressive angels. Yours sound fun
Mine barely move, they rarely venture deeper than the top 10 inches of the tank and are very docile. I bet I could stick my head in the tank like I am bobbing for apples and pull out of of the angels. They don't do anything.

Now my Rainbows on the other hand can get nasty. I need Angels like yours to hang out with my rainbows.

good luck with your snails. Have you considered trying a bigger pleco?

EDIT: Okay I take that back. I added baby gambusia, mollies and baby tilapia to the tank and the angels went crazy. saw one swimming away with half a tilapia in its mouth. Didn't even know their mouths could stretch like that. I added about 200 gambusia, a bout ten tilapia and about 20 mmollies. There are only about 4 Tilapia, 12 mollies and about 50 gambusia. makes me think twice now about adding neons to the tank

I would say get rid of the angels... You got broken ones. Trade them to haw and get another pair. They have a huge selection for good prices

LOL @ some of the responses!! Thanks, yall. We did, in fact, end up at HAW around 2:30 today. We bought 5 corys & 3 rainbow sharks. We figure if they wanna act like a gang, we'll add in more gangs & we'll just have a remake of The Warriors up in here! Why not? They remade Footloose, didn't they?

We also added more hiding places via a stop at Home Depot (flower pot & pvc pieces) & now it looks like Super Mario's house of Hell's Angels.

Hitler, the littlest member of Hell's Angels, is not happy about this. I just flipped on the light and he swam to the front of the tank like he is the most sweet, innocent little angel ever. I musta busted up his plot to make it back to Coney Island.

                  We'll see how this goes!

Really? I have never heard of Mobster angels before. I have always thought of Angels, Discus, Rams, parrot fish and severums as being the sweeties of the cichlid world

I hope the corys and rainbow sharks work. Those are two of my favorite fish :)

Well, they all survived the night. No one is dead, chewed up or cowering in a corner & the angels are staying out of the corys and rainbows way. They all seem to be doing their own thing.... for now. Yay!

Sounds like all you needed was more distractions. Angels are too smart

The Warriors Remake is on the way found this info in it.....
                          'The Warriors'

                          Attached: Brenna Roth
Status: Director Tony Scott is no stranger to remakes, having helmed "Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" and produced "The A-Team." His latest effort takes on the seminal 1979 gang flick "The Warriors;" this time around, the action has been moved from New York to Los Angeles for the story of a group of gang members who have to make their way through enemy territory to escape a bogus murder rap. A script has been completed, but with Scott literally working on dozens of properties simultaneously, there's no telling which will get the fast track first.
