I sold my discus and now have my quarantine tank set up to put something else in it. Only problem is I can't decide what to do with it. I would like some interesting, but not so rare it cost too much. don't want to do planted. Tank is 30 gal with a large hang on back with dual bio wheel. Also have a 2217 I could hook up if needed.

    29 gal (Planted Puffer)
10 gal (snails and small planted)
    5 gal Hex (shrimp)

with that set up, some africans would be pretty. And a school of some brightly colored tetras or barbs for the top part.
        Guppies:
Hi-fin pepper Cory's, Black Cory's, Long Fin Golden Aneus, Swordtails, some lyretail(RREA's, Red, Albino Koi, Red & Gold Tux), Different types of BN plecos(albino, calico, long fin, blue eyed short & long fin)
        Mystery Snails, Yellow Shrimp, CPDs

Thinking about going lake Tanganyika. I would like Calvus, cyprichromus, and maybe a few shellies. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Tank would be too small for cyps... And eventually the for calvus too.

Looked up the dwarf cichlids, and they are too much like what I have had before. I have had lots of Africans, primarily haps and Victorians. Trying to find something different. I am so perplexed.

You said you wanted calvus... Just buy them small with the knowledge in a few years you will have to sell them or get a bigger tank

I like the calvus and shellies idea, just switch to a sand substrate first so you can watch em dig!
