Red tail cats and tiger shovelnose cats have got to be the worst ideas for popular beginner pet fish currently on the market. I rank them higher than Oscars, common plecos, pacus...

I agree... That's why i asked. Not everyone knows they grow to 3ft in the first year, and 5+ as adults. To be honest I don't know anyone who has a big enough pond to keep one.

There was one at Kemah that ate full grown red snooks and oscars... yes, fully grown.

Ps. and a 75 will last you all of about 6 months with one of those... if that. And no one will be able to take it back. Just FYI. If you get one, don't use medications, and once it gets to frying pan size (4 months or so), eat it.

                          gobies
                          lots of nanos

Yep, just don't release it in the bayou or pond or lake. I'm sure it would survive just fine. God help us if there's another one in there and they hook up and start breeding...

something that grows that fast i wouldn't even think about keeping it in an aquarium. just start digging a hole in your backyard you'll appreciate the fish more..
