Got an Eco Pico for my GFs daughter for her 3rd birthday, stocking suggestions...

I was lucky enough to have Mike Senske of ADG aquascape this for the little girl, along with a Custom ADG stand designed for the EcoPico . It is designed so nicely, and being a hobbyist I want to put things like shrimps, rams, apistos, furcatas, and other things of that nature. Problem is, with her age, she won't know the difference. I know she would enjoy a tank with guppies popping out babies for her to name a lot more. I understand the tank is FOR HER, call me selfish, but........ Guppies just aren't something I want to put in there, long story short just not my cup of tea (not knocking anyone that breeds them, to each his own, yea?). Plus, it's my tank vicariously thru her !!!Thoughts? Ideas? Suck it up and go with guppies?

Instead of guppies maybe go with an alternative livebearer, black barred Limia or a nicer strain of Endler?

Oh and I have always found kids love kuhli loaches, its always a win!!! lol

Back to topic, yea, if I went Livebearer it would be guppies due to the rainbow effect that they come with. lol, kids love colors, get the kid colors !!!

So Mike finally pawns off one of those stands... LoL!

koi swordtails, I've always liked those but don't want to get made fun of by the leet.
There are some cool livebearers but I think some egglayers would be cool, it would keep her attention longer since she would have to wait for the eggs to hatch.

Haha, that's the last stand, he actually has been holding that stand for a few months for me. Egglayers would be awesome, but with the care needed and me not being there but a few times a week might cause issues and loss... unless you can name something that has bright colors, lay eggs and rear with minimal care... I hate those damn koi swords.....
