  • 10 gallon mystery build!!

so i bought a 10 gallon b/c it was the 1$ per gallon sale and now i've decided to make a stand and set it up looking SWEET... with the argument of who has a clean under cabinet of the stand... i made the stand open front to show a nice clean look... there is going to be no wire showing hopefully... if not 1 wire and overall its going to be a clean look... here is the set up list:
    • 10 gallon tank w/ open front DIY stand
    • eheim 2215
    • k.nano 240
    • rigged desktop LED light

    Stand:

Stand & tank drying out... ALL BLACK EVERYTHING!.. exception of eheim products... =/

    Mission Complete!!!

cycled and stocked in 20mins!!! i love instant cycle bags(a bag of media left in my established wet/dry)

I meant to cut that center piece not as tall and have it against the top board... to brace the flat that the tank sits on.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

I think it would have a cleaner look if the support board was butted right up against the bottom of the main board.

I agree with ek. By putting the board in the middle, you've broken it into two visual spaces which makes it look more busy. Just my opinion.

there is only 1 of 3 ways of doing it... to support the middle, put a vertical board in the middle, or cover the back... i didnt want to cover the whole back because sometime its a hassle to get to things... and trust me a middle vertical board will look real ugly... so i went with putting it in the upper middle... i could have put it flush with the top part of the stand but it would not have hold the stand together and i would have to brace the bottom as well to keep it steady... due to that fact that the stand is taller then a normal 10 gallon stand...

Same here. I think it would've looked better with it up more against the top board. You could hide your wires better too if you're planning on putting a power cord on the back of that panel

i didnt want a vertical brace in it cuz the eheim will be towards the left side of the stand and it will throw off the look... (blank spot of the right...

no b/c i dont like the idea of the back being covered easier for me to get things in and out faster... im planning on doing a 5gallon w/d filter... lol...also it wont bow foo... its 1/2in ply... and the center brace is off center for that purpose... i think things through before i build...
