      Re: wild caught plecos

I wouldnt want to catch these plecos and put them in my tank.  I mean the water is really dirty, plus they look really ugly when they get that big.  I know its tempting trying to catch one of them big ones, but try to fight off the temptation lol.

        I love sushi!

How is Japon? honestly I have eaten a lot of sushi and my fair of fresh fish and most places people rave about in Houston are really crappy. Man I'm getting the cravings for it now.

IMO I would eat a fish out of my tank before I would eat it out of most bodies of water if it came down to it.....I know what I put into my tanks.....I don't know what everyone has dumped into the others.

          Re: wild caught plecos

Yeah, the only thing I have put into my tanks is maybe a little salt... I would eat a fish out of your tank too EK...not! LOL! The only fish I really like is Tilapia. MMMM...tastes sooo good!

I think that the only thing I really like sushi-wise are spring rolls with the peanut sauce. MMMM...Now I'm getting cravings. The bad thing is, I can't find a decent place that makes them. Anyone recommend any?

Airport, maybe you should save back those plecos that you wanna toss and stick them in your future pond...

Hmm....I don't really consider spring rolls sushi.....Homemade is probably the best.

Sushi - I can recommend several places...
Hanson77 and the crew down there have prolly one of Houston's best Sushi restaurants around.

Masa Sushi - 977 NASA Pkwy, Houston, Texas 77058  281.486.9888
I know the owner...  yes he is Chinese not Japanese, but expect only the very best.

One of these days we should gather all sushi eaters from HFB and road trip down there.

On my side of town there is a great place called,
              Atami - Steak & Sushi. 549 S. Mason Rd. Katy, TX 77450 (281)-398-8885

The absolute best place I have eaten at in Houston is My Le on 249 and cypress...

Close second has to be Ra over there in the Post oak area......their green tea creme broule(sp?) is the absolute greatest!

                          Re: wild caught plecos

i have to try out the places you guys have named, RA is good, but way over priced, you can get similar quality for less, azuma on kirby in rice village is very good - bigger pieces too, miyako on westheimer is also very good, japon is normal good, but not the greatest, they have good happy hour prices everyday between 4 and 7 i think and all day sunday, so i take advantage of that, i have had sushi in both coasts and would have to say the sushi i had in seattle and california are the best, but the absolutely the BEST sushi i have had so far is at uchi in austin, SO GOOD, its worth the wait and the money, i will be there this week, i think i might go back

ek, if you love sushi, u have to try uchi (ok that rhymes)
