Calvus try to get a male and female cause they are territorial

Lelupi a pair or get more , they get territorial

Julie's I have never try this ones

I have put 20 trophs in a 55 , and a lot of malawi,in the past no problem
U will be good if u got a good filtration and at least 1 week to 1.5 WC schedule, with a wet and dry u can overstock to get the aggression down.

Be sure to have lots of rockwork where they can get out of each others' sight when needed. The tank doesn't sound overstocked.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

You need a lot of rock for this to work. Lelupi are especially good parents so if you end up with a pair you may have some agression issues when they start to set up house. All of these fish are cave/ rock dwelling types so make sure you have a lot of rock piles for them to roam in.

fitting and getting along are 2 different things.when they get bigger,if the leleupi pair up,they will take over most if not all the tank,to the detriment of any fish thats still alive.if they are 2 males,1 will die.calvus grow slower than the others.if you start with all fish the same size, they wont keep up.they gonna get victimized.

I have a marine land magnum 350 filter with carbon in it right now! I'm changing it to a cartirage filter once the fish are in. I have a 50 pound lava rock in the middle, and a small 7 pound lava rock. The 7 pounder has been in my other tank for a month and looks like it has cycled but I know a lot of people say that lava rocks cycle. How long till the tank will be fish ready? I started it 3 days ago and the filter 2 days ago.

I have a 9 pound lava rock. But is that too much rock for a 55 gallon tank?
