As for feeding, discus aren't too aggressive compared to other cichlids. They're more grazers, pecking at the food once it hits the bottom. Your little one is showing dark stress bars. Right now he's not comfortable. Give him some time and try the bloodworms again, then leave the room. Peek in after a few minutes and see if he's pecking at the bottom. He looks like a brown or blue; hard to tell at that size with that many bars. On the up side, discus don't typically have too much color at that size so he's likely not hormoned.

He will be much more comfortable with more discus of his size.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

looks like a young red turq..
mixing it with other fish with no qt.. not good idea for existing or new fish..

but it may just stay stressed. since they are in a school fish that like to be in groups of 6 or more.

Might take a while to get unstressed, at least 2 factors involved that we know of.
            1. Transporting
            2. Mixing with Cichilds
Give a few days to settle down

How many Discus can go into a 55gallon and be comfortable? Other fish that will be going into tank is about 15 neon tetras and 10 Rumy nose with some Corys and a couple of bristle nose.

Depending on size and wter changes 5-6 recommended. Unless your going to use it for a grow out tank

This will be their tank my other tanks are strictly severum tanks. I was thinking 4-5? Not planning on a larger tank for a few years.
The discus I currently have is doing great, eating and stress has gone down.
