UV Lamps

I have to replace the UV lamp in my Coralife Turbo Twist 6x, which requires "18 watts PL-L type compact flourescent UV lamp". I only could find 18 watts "2G-11 Base" UV lamps on Ebay. Are they the same?

PL-L is a bulb type and 2G-11 is a lamp base/socket type. The distinction is a technical one, and for your purposes, the answer is yes.

the question is... will a cheap ebay lamp emit the same spectrum as an aquarium bulb? If not you're wasting your money
