Thanks for the advice guys. I will try removing the lenses to see how the coverage is, but i dont want to loose the shimmer which i have heard happens sometimes when you remove the lens. Regardless, I may look into the stunner lights if I need additional LED's.

The shimmer will be there even without lenses.

Question: how are your LEDs mounted? On the glass? Off the glass? About a foot above the water level?

The lights come with the little wire legs on them, and those legs are sitting on glass. So the fixture itself is less than 1" off the glass tops

If you wanted to, you could raise the fixture up to about 18" off the water level to get more coverage with the lenses on.

+1 figure out a way to mount them to the canopy and see the difference if u keep them on glass tops try removing the lenses like i say its gonna give more coverage without losing any shimmer and you wont see the "beaming effect" that u have now

Reworked my rock a little and added some fish this weekend. Put in about 20 Frontosa "Burundi" 1-4" and a "small" giraffe cat. While scaping I also discovered that my Brichardi Catfish was indeed still alive and kicking. I had not seen him in over 2 weeks.

Dont have good pictures to post right this second, but wanted to update this thread. Since my last post I have removed the Fx5, and replaced my PC200 using a mag 9.5 with a PC300 using mag 12.

Since the tank has been up everything has been pretty good with very few loses. I have lost 1 Eureka Red which I am not completely sure of the reason. Other than this one peacock the only other loses were Lab variants (3 total). Fairly certain this is from overeating or possibly aggression since they were small but was still a surprise since I thought Labs were supposed to be hardy but guess not in my case. Had a scare with what I thought was Fin Rot but ended up not being the case.

Here is my current stock list. Obviously as the fish start to grow I will have to downsize the list but for now the tank looks great without overcrowding(IMO).

Im fairly certain about the names for all except the "stuartgranti Mbowe Is." and "Pundamilia sp. Zue Island". I couldnt remember the exact name and several variants look similar to these.

i would be careful of the holey rock sometimes fish do like to squeeze in and make it there home but will get stuck sometimes and die just becarefull and check on ur fish
