LED's are very cool lights. Literally. I leave my lights on 12 hours a day and don't have a problem. Metal halides are really hot, but I didn't know the fish would die that soon from algae.

I think the amount of chemicals is to blame there. Could also be choking out the oxygen.

I've only used algae fix once and it gets pretty cloudy. The light um looking at is a 36" 24 led light 3 watts per led for about $105

But doesn't it say your supposed to water change after use? I don't know is why I'm asking. If that's the light you want go for it. I wanna give this chain on eBay a try. Could be a waste but I'll try it.

It says wait 3 days between doses but I dosed and 2 fish die I don't think ill use it again ill try the water changes and no lights
