Unlimited has two tanks of flowerhorn fry/juvies. The smaller juvies are a mystery game though. Xtreme has some larger flowerhorns. Most of the flowerhorns you will see in the LFS will be a bit pricey. Demand is surprisingly high for the things so the price gets jacked up. There are a few local breeders on the forum that were selling some of their flowerhorns. I would ask them first since they give some pretty reasonable prices. I'm not quite sure the usernames, but I can look around and try to find them.

mykokyfish was selling some flowerhorns in the past. I'm not sure if they sold, but you could pm him.
Thai Silk - $249.95
King Kamfa - $399.95
Pearl Kamfa - $199.95
Kamfa - $100
Red Monster Kok - $160
Lone Star Flowerhorns was trying to start up a breeding project I think? Not sure but you could PM him also.

If those prices are too steep, you could buy some smaller flowerhorns from Unlimited and grow them out. I think Fish Ranch II also had some fry/juvies along with some really nice adult flowerhorns the last time I went (a month ago?). The smaller ones are way cheaper and affordable, but they are a mystery game since you won't know if they will look nice or not until they get to a good size (5-6" range?).

Well your best bet is to try Unlimited. They had a tank full of 2-3" juvies. They're in the far right side of the store on the top row towards the end on your left. I think they were going for $14? I could be wrong. I don't remember the price, but it was a pretty good price. If you don't like those, the only other place I remember there being fry/juvies was at Fish Ranch II but it was a while back.
Also, flowerhorns aren't the only ones that act in that manner. I think any fish will as long as you single them out or handle them daily. My fish always react to me when I walk into my room. They like to swim into the glass and shake their heads left and right. They'll follow me too! I've also seen this guy train some goldfish to come to his hand and let him hold it. Then it'll swim off upside down. Wet pets are so interesting!Last edited by mistahoo; 09-08-2012, 03:24 AM.

If you do choose to feed it live, make sure you gut load the live food or else the fish will be malnourished. Don't forget to quarantine live feeders as well because most of them carry disease and parasites that you wouldn't want transferring over to your fish. I find it easiest to just get them pellet trained. It's easier to store the food and you don't have to worry about all the hassles of live food. It's also easier to get.
