Google says that salt will harm scaleless fish and live plants
You can use regular table salt. The amount you use is about the same as aquarium salt. It is 100% safe for your fish. I say that salt that contains "anti-caking ingredient" will harm any fish, scales or not, and anything else that is alive in your tank. Just make sure when buying the table salt that you check the ingredients and make sure it doesn't have anti-caking ingredient. Generally the natural sea salt doesn't have anti-caking. I use Morton pickling salt because it comes in a big box and is way cheaper ($1) than everything else.
the ich meds will burn the loaches as well as the ghost knife, and possibly kill the shrimps. these fish have no scales to protect them. turn up the temp to 86 and add a half dose of salt.

80 isn't enough to make the ich fall off. You need to make sure the heater is in the upper 80s and 86 is a perfect temperature. Whenever I have ich, I always raise the temp to 86 and use table salt. It has never failed me once and I don't have to go buy all these ich meds that are much more expensive than salt.
Also, don't forget to do more frequent water changes to help the recovery process go by faster. Add salt in after every water change. Someone mentioned Epson salt before. I've never tried it for getting rid of ich, but I would go for the regular salt first since Epson salt isn't the same. I use Epson salt as a laxative for the fish.

If you can make a run to the store, look at the natural sea salts or even pickling salts they have. I know the Morton pickling salt definitely doesn't have anti caking but I'm not sure if you have Morton brand salts over there?
I had some ick and used Mardel Parashield + a little bit of salt + increased temp (abt 86F) and got rid of it quickly. Both infected fish are doing well over a month later and one of them is about to drop another batch of fry.

I would steer clear of any meds because the OP has fish that don't have scales. Salt and increased temp is going to be your best friend. You don't have to mess with anything when you just use salt. If you use meds, you need to remove any carbon in the tank (usually the filter catridges).
