I would do pfs or black sand on their own, mixing dose not look good to me. But to each his own.

Pretty much. It doesn't give off that salt and pepper look that a lot of people try to achieve. Oh and all Tractor Supply Company stores should carry the Black Diamond bags. I got mines from the one in Katy.

yeah but the tractor supply company for me is insanely far like 30-40 miles from the nearest one which is in alvin also the clemtex place is closer so i might go does anyone know how much it is and for how many lbs also it says that black diamond is made from coal slag or something does that release alot of chemicals or stain the water? or do you just have to rinse it a lot and do you guys have any experience with shrimp and black beauty

Where do you live?? I think black beauty and black diamond are made the same just different brands. It hasn't released any chemicals in my tank or stained the water. You just rinse it just as much as any other sand when you buy it new. The substrate should do fine with the shrimp.

Same here with the Black Diamond. It's just cloudy the first time you put it in just like any other fine substrate.
