You could alternatively try great stuff foam or the outdoor black foam they use for water features undeneath the plywood. Just spray a small amount on top and place the board over it and then a weight across all sections of the board. all the gaps will fill in. Just rim the excess. That stuff will keep the board adhered

Where are you going to put your filters and such?

Yeah, I can't wait to get them up and going....it's gonna look pretty bad ars. As for filteration....The wall is 56" long where as the tank is 48" long. Giving me a 10 inch gap between the house wall and tank as the tanks will be at the outer edge of the brick wall. That being said....I'm putting a HOB filter on that side. A sponge filter run by a maxijet 1200 will be on the opposite side with pvc run under the gravel with spouts placed strategically to push the water towards the filter. I believe it was FshFrk that showed me how to do this quite some time back.

The thing with this build is that I want to be able to take the tops back off. We have some very nice brass or copper (not sure which) planters that sit in the holes of the brick wall. This way we will be able to have a nice top on the walls or planters in the walls. So, it has to be removable. I'll post some pics later of the planters.
      A mouth will say anything....:ym_chatterbox:....Take a picture!!!!
