Krib: Pelvicachromis Pulcher or Kribensis...
And yes It is a nice looking Fish....Picture # 3
Any chance you guys can give me some more info on this fish? I baught it last week and the shop told me it was a bolivian royal ram? Thanks for clearing this up for me everyone!
google kribensis images for the exact morph, there are many different color patterns that vary quite a bit. the main thing is that they can be somewhat aggressive, especially toward other males. these dwarf cichlids are also pretty long lived, i have one that has been with me for 12 years and several hurricanes. The two Ancistrus catfish are the only others to do that.
i have tried watermelon too and they seem to like it but it gets a bit messy. i imagine fruits and veggies with a higher water content would be closer to their favorite aquatic plants.

I have Kribs as well. The only two things I can tell you is that they are very hardy and they breed like rabbits! The one you have is a male. If you want a female they are the ones that are smaller with red bellies nearly all the time. I actually prefer the look of the females more.

Have some hiding places such as rock caves and let th do the rest. Is is very simple. Might be worried about your clown loaches eating the eggs though. If you do find eggs, get one of the breeder boxes that hangs in the top of your tank. Get the hard plastic one, not the one that has netting. These can be bought at petco. Anyways, fish the eggs out carefully with a small net and place them in it so they will not be eaten.
