Does anyone know anything about this place. I just found them online and tried to call them because it looks like they may have a lot of what I'm looking for but know one picked up and there was no voice mail. Are they still in business and if so does anyone know if they are open today?

They're open today, yeah. They're closed sundays. Most days is 10:30 - 6? something like that.

The website is way out of date. They have a lot (SA/monster fish, malawis/peacocks/mbuna, community fish, koi, saltwater etc etc) Just go in there knowing what you want and don't ask questions. Jason knows his stuff, but can be an ***. His help is pretty clueless. So go there to look, then research at home, then go back to buy

Thanks ya I tried that number and no one picked up.

Andrew thanks for your reply as well. I know what I want and looking at their "dated" web page it does look like I should be able to find it.

        Thanks for your help guys.

its hit or miss there. i have bought some really cool things from there like city water acclimated cardinal tetras that thrived even when i put them back into a low pH tank. Then again all my rams died one by one in the same tank. I have scalare angels that i bought as juvies with no problems. i bought neolamps a long time ago and they were great, but all the clown loaches from the same buy died. no refunds there so check out the tank they are in and if its clean and they look good then consider it. he does often have things that are hard to find elsewhere.

The store gets a lot of mixed reviews but personally I have had nothing but good experiences there. Make sure the fish you buy are healthy, colored and not beat up, and you should have no problems. His prices on African cichlids are on par with every other store in Houston I have visited, and his selection is very good(IMO).

Its a mixed bag. I like going there, you can find nice plecos there, but also dead fish.

Agreed with everyones reveiws. It can be good, but certainly has some issues as well. Caveat Emptor!!!

I just got back from there and I did find what I was looking for (a nice large female yellow lab). With that being said the tank that I got her from looked great, but I did see some dead fish in the store and some that were a little beat up. Their prices were fair and their selection was great.

So with that being said I think all the replies to this thread are accurate, both good and bad. I will be back.

So I may have spoke too soon. I purchased a single large Yellow lab on Wed. She looked good most of the rest of the day. by the morning she was in rough shape and not swimming too well. By tonight she still doesn't look any better, maybe even a little worse. She is now not eating and is in a breeder net by her self. She is with 6 other yellow labs two of which are males. I have not had a fish death in well over a year but I think I may have one in the next few days if not sooner. Being that they don't back their fish I most likely will not be back.

When you say in rough shape do you mean beat up by the other fish or looked sick?.
