  • Year Long Project

Purchased a 125 gallon setup off of craigslist last year for $100. Did not like the stand and it was an ugly homemade canopy. I spoke with several ofthe box members as to what I needed to purchase. So I purchased a little at a time until I had everything. So I started looking for a stand and canopy that I wanted but I could not find one that caught my eye. I posted on the box that I needed someone that knew how to use Google SketchUp and AndrewB answered my desperate post. Thanks to Andrew for coming to my rescue and patiently working with me. Andrew did the plans for me. Then I had a delay because I knew I wanted to get the inside of my house painted before I moved the tank inside. Got that done, next I had to clear up some floor space in my den to make room. Currently working on that. I started searching for someone to build the stand and canopy. Found the person and he is currently building my stand and canopy.

I will be moving the fish that are currently in my 75 gallon into the 125 which is red zebras, red tails sharks, silver dollars, yellow labs and will add more once it is up and running.

    Substrate – PFS
Landscape – white boulder rocks and a med piece ofdriftwood for the bn plecos
    Equipment:
    Fluval FX5
    Eheim 2217
    2 Hydro 1050GPH
    2 AC110 HOB’s
    20L Wet/Dry with 300W inline heater.
    2 Petsmart Fish Feeders

So everyone that have told me that they would help me set this tank up get ready because I am almost ready. Here are some pictures of the stand and canopy LMK what you guys think.

Stand and canopy is oak with oak molding. The canopy will be like Hangman's. There will be a 36in light and 36in powerstrip mounted inside the stand. The stand wil be stained natural and the inside of the stand and canopy will be painted white with a waterproof sealant.

Yes it may be alot of filtration but it is better to have more than not enought. The openings in the back of the canopy will be used for AC110's if I ever need to use them. My box brothers will be setting up the tank for me and I know they will setup the filtration accordingly. It is costing me right at $600 and that is for everything.

Thanks Steve but it took longer than I expected because I had some obstacles come my way but it all worked out in the end. I really got what I wanted.

Wow....looks great, wish I could've gotten a deal like that on the stand and canopy for my 420 :) As far as filteration goes, you're absolutely right. I over filterate all my tanks and I do huge water changes. Can't wait to see it all finished.
