very nice thats 50cal old tank good pickup, i have over 1000 in fish alone :) but i gotten most of it back selling fry. Your never done spending money when it comes to keeping fish so better get used to it. Lights, water, food are constant never ending expenses. Like people said i try not to think about it

I've always tried to spend as little as possible buying tanks, but I realize that the actual tank and stand are always the cheapest part, for me at least.

I agree. The tank ends up being the cheepest part. The hardware (pumps heaters and the rest) can pass the cost of the tank easy. The light bill isn't cheep either. I'm running 7 heaters, 10 pumps, and 9 lights.

If you have over 150g tank this may not be the case. never had one over that so I don't know...

I actually do the total opposite.

I try to spend as much as I can on the tank and sand. They tend to be the things that never get sold and stay the longest so they might as well be nice.

Fishes get purchased and sold a lot.
