  • Some new additions.

Instead of making 3 separate threads, I figured I would just share some pics in one and not waste unnecessary space. Up first in my African Tank are 3 Three Striped African Glass Catfish (Pareutropius buffei).
Next in my planted tank is one of my favorite fish, which is strange because honestly there are not many barbs I care for. I bought a couple of Odessa Barbs (Puntius padamya) and just a goofy pic of one of my Bamboo Shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis) feeding in the filter return current. Hope yall enjoy!
    Attached Files

Nice barbs! Never seen them before. Looks very nice! Would you happen to know of any LFS selling some Bamboo/wood shrimp? Looking to get 2-3 of them to add to the clean up crew.

Thanks Mista! I actually got mine at Petsmart in Clear Lake but they have them at my Petco here in Baytown, so you might want to check both around your area.

Nah. Petco and Petsmart in my area don't carry any cool livestock. Their clearance aisle is awesome though! Things clearanced for no real apparent reason = win for me!

Cool choice on the Odessa barbs, not certain why many aquarists steer clear of barbs in general. Its a large family and I have personnaly wanted to try out a Barb biotope for years. The three striped African Glass Catfish have always been one of those oddballs I just never got around to keeping, so keep us updated on what they are like in captivity and how they might differ from the traditional glass catfish. Great pics and looking forward to hearing more.

Mista> bamboo shrimp are not very good clean up crews. they are filter feeder and only eat the mico algae in the water. Amonos are better for clean up. But Bamboo shrimp are very cool looking and fun to watch. You should try them.
I traded mine away. I really like what I got but the shrimp are missed more then I thought they would be...

The petco on hwy6 at 529 has them every time I go in there. But I would still call ahead.
