  • Running fish feeders?

Anyone else running fish feeders on their tanks? I use all ehiem 3581 feeders. I try to have my aquariums as easy to maintain as possible and makes it a little nicer not worrying about feeding them. Running 3 in my 240' 1 with my baby fry in the sump, and 1 in my 100 gallon fry tank. The large aquarium can go two weeks with out touching it, and I recharge all the batteries once a month

I like to feed my fish. they know who I am and what time they get fed.
We do use feeders If we go away for more then 3 days. As was said Eheim makes the best feeders. I have had a few other brands. all of them worked but the eheim gives a more equal portion every feeding. Its cleaner and I like the way it sets on the tank...

I heard that troy tucker ,so nobody really uses them daily? Maybe i'm just lazy...ha ha ha....My aquarium stays cleaner as well because they get the about the same amount of food every time. My fish still know i'm still the shadow that can feed them as well

There's a bunch of members that use it daily. I know Sunny does and a ton others. They're just probably not on the forum as much

I like the sporadic feeding , if i raise my hand to feed and they dont act like their hungry then no food. If ur feeder is always dropping food and ur not there its just creating waste. I usually feed three times a day. My lil babies get like 5 to 6 small feedings.

And i like to give my tanks lots of variety so theres a downside to auto feeders. Now if on a vacation hell yea !! But for many of us that mean quite a few feeders for each tank....damm id need 8

i use mine on a daily because I'm not always gonna be home to feed them 4-5x a day. My fish will clean up whatever food is dropped in the water in less than 4 seconds. The feeder is used for staple pellet food. I personally feed them other food such as flakes, repashy, seaweed, etc etc.

Yea feeders work wonders. Idk about any left over food but with tropheus/petros the food doesnt touch the sand bed well at least in my tank. Like coung i also feed flakes, repashy manually couple of times
