  • Fish cleaning services

My mom wants to get a fish tank, a huge one, i think for having no experience with fish. So in convinced her not to get one that size and if she does, hire someone to do the maintenance for her.

There are services to do that, i just dont know if there is a size limit on how small, and the prices on the services.

Any info or if you know anyone that does it. plz let me know. Thanks.

There is a company in the woodlands/conroe area that does maintanence, down the road from Fish R Us.  I believe they are call aquarium creations.  Not sure if they do it for everyone or just the people that buy from them though.

How big of a tank is she wanting?

      Re: Fish cleaning services

I know there are several people on this forum that do tank maintanence as a side job to feed their addiction. I used to do it as well, albeit several years ago. There are professional companies that do this, although they tend to charge a large chunk of change. Perhaps if you posted where in Houston your mom lives, and what size tank she is going to get, then some people could PM you with quotes.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

how old is your mom?  A 55 with a HOB filter should not be too dificult to maintain.

                    Re: Fish cleaning services

im a pretty straight forward kind of guy.  I dont know if the poster(son) is in his 20's or in his 50's, so the mom could be anywhere from 35 to 80.  This would make a big difference on what she would be able to maintain a tank.

I told her chichlids, but she probably wants to get goldfish. So one or the other.

On a 55 a good canister would be easy to maintain once a month or so. I would avoid gold fish personally but Gourami's would give her some low maintenance fish and some variations of color.
