ok, so about a month later, time for an update. took the rainbow shark to the LFS a few days ago, just cause i felt like it. :) still no aggression issues, but i kinda like having a one-fish tank, except of course for the small group of feeder guppies. been feeding apple snails, ramshorns, clams, and shrimp. thanks to sunny, by the way, for helping me get those ghost shrimp! and of course thanks to jozle for having too many! i swear he's grown!

oh yeah.. also, nightster's thread reminded me.. before i got rid of the rainbow shark, i was giving him a couple NLS pellets, and guess who likes them? yup. my puffer takes pellets.

update- new vids! a new look for my tanks :)

Looks good...ok if it like nls go nls and mix frozen food...tbh i really dont like feeding puffers live food except it's some kind of feeders that i have been kept and breed for a long time..and i can be very possitive that it will be no ip problems on the feeders..or if you really like feeding live stuffs..make sure to treat for ip twice a year..
I have seen ip killing large puffers people kept for a long time..all in a sudden sometimes..

the feeder guppies i have i've been breeding, and before that, the original stock came from a good friend who has had them for many generations, so i'm pretty confident. i've heard of puffers choking on ghost shrimp because of the spike on the top of their heads, but not until i added this group... so perhaps i'll switch to my same friend's overabundant CRS from now on. all the snails were bred by me as well.. but i'll still treat every once in a while if i feel the need. this little (for now) guy has stolen my heart, i love how interactive he is, and the reactions of people, too! everyone is amazed that there is such a thing as a freshwater puffer lol. my new favorite, for sure. :) also, other than bumping into them from time to time, still no issues with the plants. if anything, it just provides a more interesting landscape for kiff to hunt snails in. :)
