Can a heater that is ment for a 30-60 tank be used in a 10 gallon. I have several heaters that size lieing around and really dont want to spend another $20 on a smaller heater when I have 3 extras. My only concern is that it may over heat the tanks. Is this a concern or no.

Re: heaters
Is this like that trick question: What weighs more, a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers?
Why would setting the temp at 70 degrees burn up the tank? Wouldn't the thermostat turn off at the set temp?
Granted, if an O Cat stuck on the heater was cooked from the powerful heat a bigger heater puts out, that wouldn't be good. Too small to eat...Working for a better Future for my Fish!

Re: heaters
Heaters can be used in any size tanks - your problem is if you have a failure of contact mechanism you may have boiling water quicker than you had expected especially with a large heater in a small tank.
