I am going to empty my tank out once I sell the Arowana. I have some algae in it and I was wondering if there is anything I can do once it's empty to get rid of all of it.

I'd recommend a non-abrasive algae scrubber. A razor blade makes for easy work, but can scratch your glass if you are not careful. Mostly just a bit of elbow grease and sweat.

What about boiled water and stuff like that?

I suppose you could use boiled water and it will kill it, but the chance of cracking/shattering the glass would make me avoid it as a viable tactic. You could use bleach to kill it, but then its just dead and still stuck on the glass. I have not heard of any easy way to remove it minus acid and I think I would prefer elbow grease to possibly ruining the aquarium. Theoretically the glass and silicone are acid resistant, but muratic/hydrochloric acid is probably tougher to get your hands on at the concentrations you'll need to use and the chance for injuries/health problems/unseen issues is severely increased.
