    Re: New 210

Actually I thought that it would be too many (56) fish anyway in the 210. I think the best thing to do is keep every one separated for the time being.

    Thanks for the input.

Most likely they won't crossbreed but like bethesdaboy stated....too much yellow going on.

And after seeing the Mtoto's at Mike's today I feel that my 39Ilangi is too little of a colony.....Time for more!

        Re: New 210

Steve, your 210 is not a 7ft tank?

6ft x 28" wide x 2ft tall...weird must be a new tank and not the old Oceanic style I am thinking of.

Even though the Ujiji are a brichardi, I would not trust them with yellow Nkonde.  I think it is more important to seperate the color as much as possible than it is to concern yourself with moorii types, brichardi, annectens or duboisi as the lone methodology for not getting hybrids.  The Duboisi is the only one I would say is 100% safe to not make hybrids as long as they are not kept with other Dubs.

Steve, if you are hellbent on combining them together, I think you would have better luck with the Kachese and Ujiji mix even though the sp.red types (kachese) are the most prone to making hybrids.

Your 210 with the filtration you have posted, I would put 70-80 fish in there max if you want them to reach their full potentials.  The key at keeping that many is a regular regime of waterchanges per week or bi-weekly.

          Re: New 210

I was told the tank was bought new from marineland in August of this year. It is 72X28X24. I think it's actually a 180 gallon tank myself, but the guy was addament it was a 210.

Anywho, I've decided to to keep the yellow nkonde in the 210 with no other trophs at this time. The kachese will eventually get to live in a 110 RR I bought a few months ago, but have not set up yet. For now they will be kept in a 75 gallon rectangluar.

I'm thinking of going to CS this weekend to pick up the fish, but have not heard from Mike yet about if that will work for him.

I'll be posting pics as soon as everyone is content and acclimated to their new surroundings.

            Steve,

This weekend (December 28th) I believe Chris (brownsnoutuk) and Cesar (cesar) are carpooling together on Saturday.  you might give one of them a PM and see if you go together.

Next weekend (January 5th), Derek (delock), Tim (armthehomeless), Jonathan (J-WS6), and myself are carpooling together to get ours.

Other than Donald (ddaquaria) I think everyone by that time will have all gotten their fish.

              Re: New 210

              Steve,

The 210 is an awesome tank.  Based upon the dimensions of 72" x 28" wide x 24" tall the tank comes to 209 gallons.

The new Marineland tank is pretty nice.  I will try to take a look at their website and see if there is more detail on that.

              Take care,

              Geoff

              Merry Christmas!!

                Re: New 210

All I can see at this point is that Marineland is making tanks up to 265 gallons.

Not sure where you could go and get dimensions.

Try Aquarium World which is in your neck of the woods, and ask them what tank sizes in Marineland they will carry.,

                  Re: New 210

Funny thing, I just remembered, the tank has an All Glass Aquarium oval sticker on the bottom left corner. The tank has the typical flat black pastic trim. This sticker is their common hallmark trademark. I have one on my 55 gallon too.

I covered the black trim with light oak contact paper.

I'm cannot be sure of the information the seller gave me, but I do know one thing for sure, the tank is clean and has only one blemish on the glass. I am very happy to have it. I got the tank and stand, the FX5 and the Mega Sump with a Mag 12 Pump for a very good price.

                    Re: New 210

Maybe Steve meant that it's 28 " tall and 24" wide? Just guessing from the pics and what would be more usual.
It's going to be a super-looking tank. Looking forward to pics of it once stocked.

                        Re: New 210

I don't really care that much about what the actual gallon size is, I just know it is a nice clean very large tank....
It is deffinately (from front to back) 24 inches, and from the bottom of the plastic trim to the top of the plastic trim it measures almost 29 tall. And, then, it is exactly 72 inches from left side to right side.

So whatever it is, I'm happy.
