I have a 200g tank in my store and Im having issues keeping the temp down. It has an Eheim 2262 and a wet/dry w/ a mag 12. During the day I run 2 Marineland reef capable LEDS. With the thermostat set at 69* during the day the tank runs at 82-83* with lights on, and at night the store temp is 79* but the tank still gets hotter even with the LED's off and can reach 84-85 at times. There are 2 heaters on the tank but they are set to 75*. I unplugged the heaters just in case they are causing some of the heat issue, but I dont think that is it. Honestly I have never seen the tank go below 80*.
The fish seem fine, but I know if it gets much hotter in there is could kill the fish immediately or cause early death down the road. Should I look at getting a chiller, or is there a simpler solution? I was thinking of cutting some holes in the top of my canopy but since the temp goes up when the lights are off I dont know if that is the issue.
