  • Outdoor fish breeding in an old hot tub?????

OK, this is a stretch but I am about to redo my back yard and am getting rid of an old hot tub. I have it up for trade on Craigslist and in the non-hobby area here, but started thinking if anyone had ever wanted to breed fish in their back yard this could work. It's already set up for water circulation and has a working pump. Just bypass the heater and it could make a cool breeding pond. Got you thinking don't I.

Could also be used as a hot tub

Anyone out there doing something like this? Anything I'm missing that would make this a bad idea?

people on pond forums do this all the time. It really is the best way to do a pond if you are on a tight budget! You should keep it and make it a water pond!!

I'd be interested in seeing this play out. Just make sure to put something over the intakes to keep fish from being sucked in. Btw my vote is for a trio of arrowanas
