    My planted nano was without filtration or any water movement for 6 weeks. No tangible deaths... All shrimp and CPDs and otos and rasboras and nerites and assassins made it! Go plants!
    All bleeding stops eventually...

        Nah. Was working 120 hr weeks and the filter stopped working but lights and food were on timers. Was a while before I had time to get a replacement filter! :)

                Agreed! I took a $500 dollar hit when my wild tapajos died post-water change. That HURT.

                      +1 for plants! My nano was setup to be a filterless tank. Was going good for about a few months, but algae took over when my CO2 went out and now I'm back to DSM. If you have plants, your livestock will last longer without a filter.
