  • Fishless Cycle Question - Newbie

What's your thoughts on a Fishless cycle?

I'm starting a 75 gallon tank freshwater in league city with tap water with high nitrites and ammonia.

The lfs mentioned using plants to the cycle.

They suggested some anubis, which I plan on getting but I'd like something that grows faster to help the cycling.

What do you think about water sprites?

Any other plants that may help? Any other suggestions on the cycling?

Put a gold fish in there.
I ate my fish that died.

Plants carry beneficial bacteria on them. Adding a large plant mass to the tank will basically seed your tank and shorten up the cycle. Any plant will work. Goldfish will feed the bacteria with ammonia
