    Re: scuds?

They are harmless. Your fish may eat them. I say MAY, as I introduced them into may goodied tank and goodieds do not seem fond of them. In that tank, the suds keep the gravel and filter pads clean by consuming uneaten food. The scuds were eaten in my other 15 aquariums. Nothing to lose any sleep over.  8)

      Howdy,

The ricci came from me along with the scuds, it is good live fish food for the tank, angelfish especially love them. Scuds are related to shrimp and daphnia.  They do not hurt the fish and live off of food waste and decaying matter.  I have them in all my tanks, and they can be found hanging on the live plants, drift wood and even in filters.  I have heard they love to eat hair algea.

I think they might eat algae. Man, I WISH I got scuds, ponds snails are the only thing that hitchhike back to my place. Pond snails=hobos of the aquarium world.

Mine haven't eaten plants that I've seen, but they might (I say might because I'm not entirely sure) thin out your moss...but it grows fast enough to not be noticeable. But yes, they love to eat hair algae. Therefore, I love them.
