So I will be in Houston for one day. What are the top 3 aquarium stores for me to visit? What store has the best bettas? And is there a store in Houston that sells micro worm and daphnia cultures.

Best bettas? Fish Gallery and Extreme fish n pets. They're not really high quality though. You'd have to import from Thailand for that or extremely lucky at petco/petsmart. City Pets, Houston Aquatics, Houston Aquarium Warehouse (HAW) are some I like to visit. Right now Homeless Aquatics is my favorite.
None have microworm cultures and I don't think any hands daphnia either. I sell microworm cultures if you're interested.

Fish Ranch had a fire and is currently closed. Houston Aquarium Warehouse is open and is on Murphy Road in Stafford. People on HFB is your best bet for many of the different cultures. What type of bettas are you looking for? I recently sold out of brownorum and channoides.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I have microworms.
Hit the yellow ones with the dots...but fish ranch is closed. If you just want to be impressed, go to Fish Gallery.

Armthehomeless, I am looking for plakats. I know there are betta breeders in Houston/Austin area, but I only have a day in Houston on Saturday and its too large to visit stores and visit breeders so its one or the other.
Clay, I talked the wife into stopping in Baton Rouge for a day on Monday so if you can PM me a time you possibly would be available I'd be happy to buy a culture from you since I already have the address, lol.
Thanx for the help guys!

Houston Aquarium Warehouse is my number 2 store after Homeless Aquatics. Xtreme has the most oddballs which is why I love his place. City pets is not too far from Xtreme. Fish Gallery has decent stuff every now and then, but everything is very inflated in price.

I should also point out the following:
- The yellow dot ones are based on quality and location (I can only hit so many in 1 day).
- I have never been to T and T. I looked for it once, but could not find it.
- I want to go to aquazoo, but it is so far away from all the others.
- I like fish r us, but I might be in the minority (it is also way up north). If you hit the ones in the north, stop by Ultimate fish to see the Petrochromis Red Bulu.
- Honestly, Petco has the best bettas if you can be one of the first people there to get the pick of the litter (that is why they are on my map).
- If you like discus, go to Houston Aquarium Warehouse.
- There is also Aquarium Design Group, but I have never been there. It is supposed to be quite a place (even though they do not sell individual fish...or something like that).
As for the spy...we know who it really is. Odds are he will read this post but will not post anything because he can not figure out how to join...

HAW isn't only Discus. They have all kinds of SA fish, but their big selling point is the nice discus. ADG does sell fish I think. They're appointment only, but since they're working on turning retail, I don't think they would have any appointments.
