  • Please help Me ID this Cichlid

I have been told this is a green terror and jack demsey mix but I have no idea or can confirm this. I have had this guy in a bunch of my tanks and he has been very docile. Recently he started eating the other fish and now is tearing everything up. I have has to isolate him to a 20 hospital tank that I have set up. I am not sure what to do with him at this point. I know he cant live and be happy in the 20 so I am open for any suggestions. He is currently about 8" long.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts ideas or opinions.

ok my situation has changed and  dont have a place for this guy. I dont want to just take hime to my LFS so anyone that would have a home for him or her....please let me know. I just dont have the means to take care of him at this time.  I also have a frontosa female that needs a good home as well (4-5").

            thanks

Wow, that does look like a green terror/jack dempsey mix!! I didn't know they could interbreed, though...

Maybe some of our SA/CA experts will chime in with their opinions. I'm not sure it's a Texas cichlid or managuense...seems different to me.

to me the color ration says Texas Cichlid with some JD in it.  Note the picture above with the juvi Texas Cichlid...  Looks almost like his adult.
