Does anyone have a preference... can say the major pros and cons of each?

I've used both and prefer chemi-pure. The biggest pro for chemi-pure is that it does last upto 6months depending on stock. The overal price makes up for the how long it last.
I like purigen as well, but the biggest con is that its easiy to make a mistake when recharging it (this will make it unusable if you make any mistake). As long as you're able to recharge it, then its good.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm currently using ChemiPure Elite and have no complaint about it effectiveness. I've been hearing about Purifen for a while but have never used it. It does appear to be a less cost solution when comparing impacts associated with the volume I'm using now. It will be several months before I need to complete my evaluation.

Purigen is great and recharging is not hard at all. Follow the directions on the bottle and you are good to go. Like cooking a TV dinner in the micro wave. I probably have 4l in use and another 2l clean on hand at all time so I can rotate and re charge. Never had a issue

Personally I've had mixed experiences with purigen - its so incredibly good at what it does that I've at least moderately bleached my corals every time I've tried it. It produces insane clarity. It doesn't adsorb phosphates though, like CP elite does.

I have used purigen. It worker great for removing tannins from new driftwood or peat. As for the other, I'm not sure.
I run low tec tanks. I don't use purigen carbun or even floss. It's just not needed.
