How many lbs are you looking for? I might have some extra. I used about 20lbs in a 10g

I called HFT and they told me they have black Aluminum Oxide but no black sand. Is that what you are refering to?

Mixing the white sand in will probably not have the effect your looking for. As they mix over time it will end up looking like dirty black sand. If you want the color contrast try mixing in some white gravel/pebbles

I have a 210g with about 1.5" of black sand if you are interested. I live in Sw side of town too.

Yes Ralph, It is very safe. It is inert so it will not interfere with your water perimeters :)

But like any substrate.... Wash it well.

I use pool filter sand and black diamond sand. My Geo's love both. But I have never mixxed it.

I am currently setting up a 55 gallon with black diamond sand. Unfortunately, I have fine and I highly recommend you get medium. It takes a lot of washing and rinsing, and beers too!!!!!
