Harbor Freight Tools and Northern Tools have Black diamond blasting sand under $10.00 for 50lb bag.
I called HFT and they told me they have black Aluminum Oxide but no black sand. Is that what you are refering to?

Mixing the white sand in will probably not have the effect your looking for. As they mix over time it will end up looking like dirty black sand. If you want the color contrast try mixing in some white gravel/pebbles
I am currently setting up a 55 gallon with black diamond sand. Unfortunately, I have fine and I highly recommend you get medium. It takes a lot of washing and rinsing, and beers too!!!!!
