Looks alot better, the greens really pull out the driftwood and rocks.

Is that Val across the front? The tank look great.
The only thing I would do is stagger the val.

In Time it will all grow in and start looking like a jungle. But make sure everything is planted to something lava rock, drift wood, or root-tab. You have Geo's.

If I attach the fern to rock rhe roots do not need to be in the substrate?

I like lava rock. you can get it small, about 2 in in size and the roots will inclose it. it will never be seen again.

Anubias, Java Fern, Mosses, and Bolbitos do not like their roots being initially buried. They can eventually bury themselves, but many die or experience shock so something to consider and be wary of.
