Anyone have a general rule of thumb about how many pounds of LFS per gallon? I'm looking to buy enough for a 135 gallon tank, at least an inch or so deep, maybe 1.5".

I'd say 2-3 bags (only come in 50#) so if you have any extra you can keep it in case or use it in the garden... at $10-15 a bag its a decent price and way lower then what specialty substrates runIn the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Yeah 3 bags of pool filter sand #20 are enough for you tank because if the sand's quantity is more then its also not good and it can be a cause for irritation of fishes in the tank. But if you already done then please share how much you used?Last edited by Carl P. Gatewood; 06-19-2014, 02:39 AM.

I still haven't done it yet. Just moved back into my house after massive construction and the tank hasn't been set back up yet.210G Malawi haps, peacocks, and clown loaches
