Looks like limestone of some type, would be decent baserock for a rockpile in a tank. Handpick the best pieces to face. Might want to cement them together to provide a bit sturdier construction.

I imagine it and some pre-soaking should be fine. Just be wary of any smells or such that might be present. Maybe use one piece prior to introducing the entire amount.

I'm using this rock in my 125 and i really like it.

I prep mine by placing it in a garbage can and soaking it in a 10% bleach solution.

After a few hours i drain the water and refill it with clean tap water, hit it with prime let it soak for a few more hours then remove the rock and let it sun dry. I then do a final inspection and smell test to make sre all the bleach is gone and place it in my tank.

When I've hit it hard with bleach i put my water hose at the bottom of the can and turn the water on low and let a few volumes overflow to guarantee a constant intro of fresh water helping remove and impurities from either the rock or bleach.

          Hope this helps

You'll be fine , iv got this stuff in my shellies rack system and it works just fine. Can get a little bit slippery when it gets some algae growth on it. But a Hot water 50/50 bleach soak cleans it back to white. Rock really looks awesome and pops very well with a blue background too !!

All pressure washed. I dont think iam gonna bleach them. I like the natural look of the rock. Some pieces have nice slight green algae on them...

Excellent catch, what do you have currently in the tank? Malawis or Tangs perhaps?

Nice. The bigger hole pieces are great finds in the big pallet lots.
