Re: The demise and rebirth of Fish Ranch

    Charles,

You know how excited girlgeek and I are for you. Congratulations.

All, girlgeek and I live in Sugarland and we made the drive to where the store is located. From 59 and west airport it took about 12 min to get there. The drive was easy and once there it was great. There is great parking and it is right on the corner in historic down town. We found that there are many other attractions as well. several great antique shops. It is not just a great place for a serious hobbyist fish lover to go once Charles opens the store but we took the kids and we could seriously spend an afternoon there shopping, having lunch and walking around all the shops.

To make it short, i can see most people finding it to be a very pleasant few hours or more.

FYI, it's only 19 miles from FRII and on 59 took about 16 min to go from one place to the other. But best of all, Charles and Tyler will be at the new store along with what I can only assume will be an amazing selection of species to oooh and awe at :)

Its pretty far from the woodlands... Cant say that I'd be very inclined to make a special trip... but if I'm ever down in sugarland or passing by there to visit one of my works plant sites  I'd definitely swing by.

              congrats!

Just food for thought. :)
Jolley I am with you there 200%...  Have you tried the new Roadhouse (talking food here not pets) on Westgreen and I-10...
That place has been jammed packed ever since they opened up their doors..
No, I haven't. But I have been to that bar a few times. I think it is call Wild Wings or something like that. I'll try it soon. It's pretty close to me. I live in Westfield Estates at Fry and Misty Cove.

Well I looked it up on maps.google.com and noticed quickly that the New Fish Ranch will be just off 723...  which leads straight north to hwy 1093 (westpark TollRoad.)  I can from my house on Westgreen and Fry drive down Fry to 99 then south on 99 to 1093, then right on 1093 for a few miles and then south straight into Rosenberg on 723.  I am less than 18 miles from the place !!!!!!! woot !!!!  (I will be 1/4 mile closer to the new location than the old Fish Ranch)

Charles I am already getting more and more excited !!!
I may just have to take the day off and come visit you on that Wednesday

Insofar as name...this will be the one and only unless we decide to open another. So it's not I, II, III, or any other Roman numeral...just Fish Ranch. Hopefully they'll redo all the signage on Tropical Fish & Seahorse/1-800-SEAHORSE soon. I just want things to be as amicable as possible.
