White Sand Substrate

How many folks here would like to BUY some very very fine white sand for substrate use?

I'm not sure on the price yet, but it would be about 1/2 of retail costs, maybe less.

NOTE!!!!!!   I do NOT have it now, but I am considering obtaining a large amount if there is sufficient interest from the HFB and other sources.

I will have a sample of this to show at the meeting on Sunday.  Again, folks it is VERY VERY fine sand, the grains are so small that a single grain is almost impossible to see by itself. It is deffinately white though, no doubt about it.

how u gonna keep it from gettin SUCKED UP and keep it settled if its that fine?

I have seen this material in fish tanks before or something similar anyway. This material (sand) is heavier than water, and of course sinks very easily, it is NOT a "floating" type of substrate, it will compact to a tight thick layer, and will not be disturbed easily.

I am hopefull of obtaining a larger sample today to try out at home in a 10 gallon tank for a test.

I am fairly confident this sand will not only be a stunning white substrate, but also a very easy material to clean. The only downside I can foresee, is the possibility of it being sucked up a vacuum if caution is not used.
