ok panty hose didnt work.  got just little stuff on it from when i cleaned it wallago and well the panty hose restricted the flow to much to my aquaclear that it want working at all.  luckly it doesnt pumop the chamber dry or i woulda burned up a pump

no i lied. i though i did. but it wsa on high.  i took the hose off and turned it down.  i think tomorow im gonna take a tupperware bowl, drill some small small holes in it and strap it to the intake.  that way nothing can go in the holes and no filter gets pluged.  we will see

yeah. the kuhlis are small but not that small.  the aquaclear 110 and the rena xp2 keep tank clean as hell but might be alittle much still for them.  but they will get big enough to stay out.  givem a month or so.  i put hose over both intakes.  and i turned the aquaclear down a little.

if those are the kuhli's from me, they are full grown.  Oblonga's don't get as large as the myersi.  I used to get them in my aquaclears too, but I got a foam prefilter from the pond section at walmart (lowes/home depot should have them too), cut it in half, put a small rubber band on each end and slipped it over the intake.  works great and prefilters the aquaclear too.

If you go to the HAS auction next month, I will be selling some used "Fish Savers", which are foam prefilters that fit whisper, aquaclear, and many other filter strainers which are cylindrical in shape. The do not fit the angular intakes on pengiun and emperor filters.

well im not a has member adn foam prefilter from lowes or something sounds good. yes its the kuhlis from u.  dumb little ******** got into the aquaclear itake.   lost one saved one.  any idea what the filters your buyin are called or brand? there spot?  thanks sorry i killed one

You can buy one of the Aqua Clear replacement sponges and cut it into a few pieces so you have a few pre-filters.
