Definitely an inline, or a canister with a built in heater. But I would only use an inline.

I'll have to look into that. Never seen an inline on a nano canister

Definitely gonna get into an acidic, low pH setup at some point, just not sure when
I have some long fin BN breed in a 10G tap water to my surprise.

I have an AC70 on that tank and 60% wc bi-weekly. Like I said "to my surprise".

Lol, AC70 on a 10 gallon. You must like over-filtration, as do I

Hydor has some options I would look into. There smallest inline is a 200W but would easily work for what your wanting to do. you might have to make a few hose fittings but other than that you should be good.

Yep, as most of us do. The strong current doesn't bother the pleco as long as they have caves. As soon as I added a pleco cave to that tank, they didn't waste anytime.

200W might be overkill, but at least I'll have room to move up. I'm looking into some DIY options at the moment

I could probably pull off a pleco tank, and run a 2211 to keep it crystal

Hydor states it's good from 23-56 gallons, or something like that. May be liters. It would be a clean option to consider.

Found some good/bad info online. A lot of talk about burning out a high wattage heater on a low volume tank due to the constant on/off as it tries to match the temperature, which makes me lean towards a DIY option with a smaller wattage heater.

A couple good threads on DIY inline heaters:

I've seen those before. Never made one myself, but they do work.

Definitely. It's always cool to see DIY stuff.
