  • Rainbow Fsh- Any Bowheads out there?

Any bowheads out there? It's interesting we have a lot of African cichlid keepers in the Houston area, but I don't run into so many rainbow fish keepers. They are quite hardy fish, that get to impressive sizes, and can do quite well in our Houston tap water. I'm just curious to see what people are keeping. I use to keep G. pseudoincisus and G. multisquamatus more than 12 years ago. They do really well in are hard water unlike their smaller cousins Pseudomugil (which I use to have a collection of). I'm thinking of growing a group out of the bigger species. They are very similar in temperament and size to Cyprichromis. They aren't very colorful to start, taking at least a year to show color and 2 years to really start to blossom. Tough as nails.

There is a wonderful exhibit at the Houston zoo. I'm curious to see what others are keeping. Please post pics.

I used to keep a few Pseudomugil species in the past, but I'm mot keeping any at this time. I love them.

Pseudomugil (blue eyes) remind me of butterflies. At one time I was on a quest for P. tenellus. Now years later, with limited tank space, I found a source. Timing is everything in the hobby.
