I went to a fish store this afternoon and noticed a pair of beautiful Killifishes (Striped Panchax). I took them home to put them on my planted community tank and make some research on them. Apparently they will do fine but if anybody have some comments that will be greatly appreciated. See attached link below for pictures. Thanks Xavier.

Now, what do you have in that community tank? Golden wonders have big mouths and appetites to match!PLECOS SUCK!

Re: Striped Panchax - Killifish
I don't know first hand, but I have heard they do tend to eat smaller fish, if they can catch them. They are gorgeous fish though, good luck.

Re: Striped Panchax - Killifish
are those killies really big enough to eat cardinals? cardinals are good size and fast and many times you can get away with keeping them with large angels who wouldn't mind snacking on them, but i don't know much about killifish behavior, maybe they are more voracious!65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted
55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid
30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted
live and let live

Re: Striped Panchax - Killifish
I put a couple of 2" polka dot loaches in the tank my 3 golden wonder killies are in. Within 5 minutes I was pulling them back out again. If those killies get the same size as the wonders do, then cardinals would easily be lunch. The killies are at least as fast as they are, and very persistant. The ultimate oxymoron - Narcolepsy and ADHD.

Re: Striped Panchax - Killifish
I've lost a couple of full sized zebra dionos to golden wonder killies and had a von rio traumatized.
They are also jumpers...
Other than that I like mine that is in a tank where everything is bigger than it's mouth. They are one of the few fish I've found that stay at the very top of the tank.Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks!
